DroneLogbook vs UAV-Planner: A Comparison for European Operators (2026)

DroneLogbook and UAV-Planner compared for commercial drone operators in Europe, covering price, flight log import, certificates, company structure and where the data is stored, with a source for every claim.

ComparisonsoftwareEASAcompliance

DroneLogbook is one of the longest-running flight logging platforms for drones. UAV-Planner is a younger product from Norway, built for operators who fly under EASA rules.

We make UAV-Planner, so read this as one vendor's comparison. Every statement about DroneLogbook links to the page it comes from, as we read it on 5 October 2026, and there is a section on what DroneLogbook does better.

The short version

  • Choose DroneLogbook if you want flight logs imported automatically from many manufacturers, a mobile app that works offline, a free plan for a very small team, or the lowest price per pilot.
  • Choose UAV-Planner if you operate in Norway or elsewhere in Europe and want Norwegian airspace restrictions on the planning map, an interface in Norwegian, data stored in the EU/EEA, and company structure and certificate warnings without a custom contract.

Where DroneLogbook is stronger

  • Log import. DroneLogbook's features page says more than 80 log types can be imported and names DJI, Parrot, Autel, Wingtra, senseFly and Yuneec among others. UAV-Planner does not sync logs from a manufacturer's cloud. The pilot logs the flight.
  • Offline use. The same page describes a mobile application for offline access that synchronises later. UAV-Planner runs in the browser and needs a connection.
  • Price. The pricing page lists a free Standard plan for one organisation with up to three users, paid plans from $6.95 per user per month and 20 per cent off when you pay annually. UAV-Planner has no free plan and costs more per pilot.
  • Flying outside Europe. The features page names FAA, CASA and Transport Canada alongside EASA. UAV-Planner is built for the European rules only.
  • Maintenance scheduling. Inspection schedules can be triggered by flights, hours or days.

Where UAV-Planner is stronger

  • Norway and the Nordics. The planning map shows Norwegian restriction areas, sensor ban zones, nature reserves and controlled airspace, and the same data is open to everyone in our free drone zone map. The interface is available in Norwegian and English.
  • Where the data is stored. UAV-Planner runs on infrastructure in Frankfurt, inside the EU/EEA. DroneLogbook's terms of service, effective 1 August 2022, have the user consent to transfer of data "to USA and/or other countries", and they are governed by US law with courts in New York.
  • Company structure without a custom contract. A parent company with business units or subsidiaries is part of UAV-Planner Professional. DroneLogbook's pricing table lists managing multiple organisations, and the audit trail across them, under Private Label only.
  • Certificate warnings in every plan. UAV-Planner flags a pilot certificate before it expires, in Starter and Professional alike. DroneLogbook's pricing table lists notifications, including document expiry, under Private Label.
  • Checklists and SORA. Professional includes checklists for planning, pre-flight and post-flight tied to each flight, and structured SORA 2.5 templates for the specific category.

Price in practice

List prices, before any discount. DroneLogbook bills in dollars per user per month, UAV-Planner in euros per pilot per year.

Team DroneLogbook Professional DroneLogbook Enterprise UAV-Planner
5 pilots $417 per year $1,197 per year €1,150 per year (Starter)
15 pilots $1,251 per year $3,591 per year €6,450 per year (Professional)

UAV-Planner costs more per pilot. What that buys is the list above: data in the EU/EEA, Norwegian airspace and language, and company structure and certificate warnings in the standard plans. If those do not matter to you, DroneLogbook is the cheaper tool.

How we checked

Everything about DroneLogbook comes from its own website: the pricing page, the features page and the terms of service, read on 5 October 2026. Prices and plans change, so check those pages before you decide. DroneLogbook also runs regional and private-label editions with their own prices, which are not covered here.

FAQ

Is UAV-Planner an alternative to DroneLogbook?

For an operator in Europe who wants flight logs, pilot certificates, equipment and checklists in one place, with the data in the EU/EEA, yes. If automatic log import or an offline mobile app is what you need most, DroneLogbook is the better fit.

Does UAV-Planner import DJI flight logs automatically?

No. Pilots log their flights in the browser after landing. UAV-Planner does not connect to a manufacturer's cloud account.

Which one is cheaper?

DroneLogbook. Its Professional plan is $6.95 per user per month and there is a free plan for up to three users. UAV-Planner starts at €230 per pilot per year. See our pricing for what each plan includes.
